Today, Malala Yousafzai is a renowned activist for women education and a Nobel prize winner as well. But, no one can forget the brutal incident of October 9, 2012 when she was shot in Pakistan for raising her voice in favour of women’s education and against the militants. She was a mere student when Taliban gunmen shot her inside the school bus.

The mastermind behind this plan was Fazlullah the leader of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and a fanatic of Islam. The U.S. government under its justice program has announced an award of $5 million to anyone who provides information regarding the whereabouts of Fazlullah. Also, it announced a $3 million reward each for information on Abdul Wali, of Jamaat ul-Ahrar (JuA), and Mangal Bagh leader of Lashkar-e-Islam. Pakistani Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua held meetings with the Trump administration and the state department before these announcements were made.

The state departments also mentioned that TTP is a terrorist organisation based in Afghanistan which is alleged to have ties with Al-Qaida. Fazlullah has organised and directed several attacks against Pakistan’s interest and publicly blamed America for its military encroachments. A terrorist in all aspects, he in 2014 operated one of the most cold-blooded attacks on Army Public School in Peshawar where 151 people were killed with more than 130 children.

The other two fugitives are equally dangerous and have been alleged for committing various terrorist acts. Under the leadership of Abdul Wali (JuA) has been the most active wing of TTP in the Punjab Province, claimed multiple suicide bombing and many other attacks throughout Pakistan. His operations base is in Afghanistan’s Nangahar and Kunar provinces. In early days Wali was a poet and journalist, who studied at various madrasas in Karachi, Pakistan. He is also known as Omar Khalid Khorasani and believed to be in his late 30’s. In 2014, JuA planned and executed a suicide bombing attack, killing the Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada and his 18 supporters. Further, in 2016, it took responsibility for another mass killing through suicide bombing in a public park in Lahore. The death toll was of 75 people with 340 injured.

Mangal Bagh who is believed to be in his 40’s belongs to the Afridi tribe and was born in Khyber Agency in Pakistan. While he studied at a Madarsa for a long time he also fought for Afghanistan’s militant groups. It is alleged that he has been leading Lashker-e-Islam since 2006 enforcing an extreme form of Deobandi Islam in the areas under the influence of his group, particularly Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. As told by the state department, the major source of finance for his group has been from drug trafficking, smuggling, kidnapping, raids on NATO convoys, and taxes on transit trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Also, he shifted his alliances multiple times to save and secure his sources of illicit revenues.

We have a multitude of such propagandist spreading the thoughts of hatred all over the world. The problem of terrorism has become a major threat to humanity as it promotes the idea of hurting and killing for the cause that is according to them dear to God. False interpretation of religion has made the entire world suffer.

We at The Voice Raiser hope that this notorious triumvirate soon get behind the bars and their punishment proves a deterrence to others who are motivated by the false and distorted interpretations of Islam.
