In a shocking incident which took place in West Delhi’s Khyala, a man named Akbar Ali was stabbed with knives by two attackers after a fight over money on Tuesday.
But what is more shocking is that as many as hundred people had gathered on the spot, but nobody came forward to help the man even after he repeatedly cried out for help. Instead, they chose to stand there and film the victim lying on the road, helpless and in pain.
A 57-second video shot by an eyewitness shows the victim, who was probably in his twenties, lying on the road, with a knife sticking out of his body (right side of the ribs). People can be seen asking Ali for his home address. But all he mentions is that he lives in B-Block. He then asks for water.
Before the police team reached the spot, someone took Ali to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
The Police later arrested the two accused, Mohd Shubhan and Mohd Afzal, from the neighbourhood for the murder. Shubhan, a welder, and Afzal, a painter, owned up to the Police and informed them that Ali (who was also a welder) extorted money from them. It was later found out that Ali was a snatcher too.
